The personnel in the department consist of faculty, technical staff, secretarial staff, and students. They form a well knit family working together towards fulfilling the mission of the Department. The faculty members have specialization in one of the streams viz. Structures, Aerodynamics or Propulsion. The technical staff members work in the laboratories and in the other organs of the Department

The department has a sizeable number of undergraduate and graduate students. There are around 150 undergraduate students, including dual-degree students. The post-graduate students are approximately 30 in number. The department has a small group of research scholars working towards their M.S. or Ph.D. degree.
