The student community of the Department consists of about 135 undergraduates (B.Tech & Dual degree), nearly 30 M.Techs and about 25 Research Scholars (M.S and Ph.D). Majority of students resides in the Campus.

Most students including the undergraduates associate themselves with one of the Laboratories of the Department and take part in academic related activities even outside the working hours.
