Since I spend a lot of time convincing people in the other direction
(basically I'm one of those stupid asses you referred to), let me share
something with you. No article is ever going to convince anyone. Be it
Windows supremacy or Linux supremacy, you have to be like Morpheus. You can
only show them the door - its up to them to walk through it.

One approach that may help is that instead of talking about the competitor
and how the 'other guy' sucks, you'll be better off talking about why you
rock and why your OS is amazing. This is something I've learned over time
and has always helped me
