[Ilugc] Using samba

Dear friends,

         I am using smb4k (a share browser for windows networks). I
currently have two OS on my
system (Debian and FC1(PC Quest Version)) However the two systems show
different number of
workgroups on the network. In debian, if I use the network browser
that comes along with GNOME
 then it is able to show all the workgroups, but not able to open all
(almost none). It says that it is
unable to show all the computers on the network. Tell me the file
which I must mail you so that you
identify the problem or what is the solution to this problem. 

      Another strange phenomenon observed is that in FC1 if I search
for a particular workgroup
which I already know of, but not shown on the list, then at times it
detects the workgroup, but shows
it as unknown. That is it says connection to the particular workgroup
failed. It does this even for
certain workgroups that it lists by itself.

          I am trying to persuade all others in my hostel to switch to
Linux with some success. Many
people put linux in their system primarily because windows was having
a lot of virus and trojan horse
problems.
