Samba is evolving a lot from its birth. I personally suggest it over
other solutions because its already known, continuously improving,
supports both Linux and Windows and if you want Mac too. You can fine
tune Samba to meet your requirements. I heard of very large successful
samba deployment in many places consists 1000+ node or more. So you
can trust on Samba its really scallable IMHO.
