Can you reproduce the same problem with other media
players like Noatun, Totem etc ?

If you are having the same problems with other media
players then I guess the problem is with your X setup.

Can you post the Graphics Card portion of XFree86-4
file to the mailing list.
That would help us in giving better guidance.
