[Ilugc] internal modem help

hello friends..

 i have a winmodem which i connect thru windows
and presently using SUSE.
and my modem details are 
Name       :            SoftK56 Data Fax Voice Speakerphone CARP
Description        :    SoftK56 Data Fax Voice Speakerphone CARP
Device Type             Internal Modem
Attached To             COM3

i came to that i have to download the driver files for this based upon
the distro, and motherboard i use
can anyone help me(guide lines) to connect this modem thru linux
