  Are you using rp-pppoe or some other PPPoE mechanism/client?
I'd recommend using rp-pppoe and its adsl-setup utility - it works
flawlessly.

  BTW, DataOne has been intermittently dropping the link and/or the
uplink for the last week or so. Running adsl-stop and adsl-start
usually fixes the problem.
