[Ilugc] [survey] Indias contribution to OpenSource software map

HI all,
    Today India in IT giant but I could rarely find any OpenSource
software which is authored by Indian ? Why ?
Is this because we dont have time to write such software ?. All are
busy working for MNC's ?
Or we dont have resources to experiment and test ?. The most precious
resource being time.
Or nobody is interested in contributing to OpenSource world other than
reaping its benefits ?

    I would like to know India's contribution to developing new software.
    How many of you scratched your own itch ?
