[Ilugc] Linux Future? An Assumption question

Hi,

Its just an assumption.

I have see solaris source code has been released in their own licence
(CDDL). for many years the unix clone solaris source code has not been
opened to public by sun microsystems. now they just released the
source code. what does happen if Microsoft releases their windows
source code (its assumption) using some sort of licence ?? most of the
developers will be switching to windows development kind of thing??? 
Please dont give the suggesstions as "they will not release the code!"
In  that case whats going to the future of linux OS????
