This is not the same as the router.
Its a ADSL modem that takes a phone line into it and plugs in to your
ethernet port. Its like the USB Modem except, you know, it works through
ethernet.
When I was registering for the connection, I asked if the modem was
supported in Linux. The salesman bluntly told me No.
After I made a big production out of being dissappointed in this, he
called someone and then told me that if I get a ethernet modem instead of
a USB modem it should be OK to work.
The rental charges for the ethernet modem are the same (Its also a Beetel
modem - whatever that is).

Try and ask them if you can switch modems (I'm pretty sure the rentals are
the same and ethernet modems work in both Windows and Linux)
