I figured out the problem.
It's the shadow file Linux NIS does not support shadow only passwd file.

A couple of things come to mind:
Solaris NIS clients use unprivileged ports, but RedHat NIS server does
not like that. See BUGS section for ypserv.conf man page.
IIRC, Solaris also has problems with md5 passwords, so you may have
to use vanilla crypt for password hashing on your NIS master.
