[Ilugc] NIS on Kubuntu

Hi,

I am new to KUbuntu. I installed Kubuntu successfully
but I want to enable NIS and Autofs. I am trying to
start/restart both the services in "GUI System
Services" but it shows as "not running" in the status
column. I also tried by command /etc/init.d/nis start
it is also not working.

Please help how to enable the services and how to
configure nis ie like "authconfig" in RedHat.
