[Ilugc] Query about daemons

I have create a simple daemon ( referred to Linux HowTo on recommendation of some of you guys ).
   
  Anyway I would like to know how do i configure my system such that the daemon is started automatically when the system starts...Will i have to edit /etc/profile file or is there some other method
