Not sure but you could use setsid(1) on Shell1 or whatever session you want to eliminate.

But setsid also means that you lose control of the tty and all that.

I can think of other ways to achieve your goal but this may suit your purpose better.

Please do let me know if this does not work since something tells me I must be mistaken.
