Dear Experts,
Voltage regulation is an tedious job. In TNEB ring main
system is used. The distance between Power generation plant and the Load
point will vary from 40 Kms 300 Kms. From generation point to utilization
area TNEB maintains various voltage levels as 11000 volts (11KV), 110KV,
230 KV and 440V 3 phase etc to reduce the Line loss . In minor variation in
High voltage side causes remarkable value in domestic side. In addition to
the above, there are drastically raised demand causes overload of Generators
cause low voltages and frequent power failures. In Hill areas like Ooty,
Kodaikanal, Vallparai etc fault rectification work is tedious.
I request you to all to take adequate protection
against surges and power fluctuations. It is quit useful if you make an good
earthing for PC Lines. I request u to buy an metal oxide surge divertors
cost around Rs.150/= per phase. Use good quality UPS. One more thing i
suggest u to take an Insurance against ur domestic or Office equipments. I
saw this in one Private Bank, they took policy against their Office PCs.
