how to drink coffee with tea? You can have coffee with milk and  
sugar, or black coffee, or coffee with bun. You can have tea with  
lemon, with milk and sugar or with bun. Perl is a programming  
language you can use it with postgresql/mysql/sqlite apache, KDE, etc  
etc and you can do the same with PHP (but not as well as with perl).  
So forget about interacting with PHP. Perl is a great language, and  
it is a good thing you are studying it.
