On a secondary note, I have used eps output from scribus and
inkscape, to get brocheures printed. Only difference is the printing
is done using digital printing and not offset. Depending on the
level of machine handler, you might be presented with silly requests
like "fonts need to be curved" etc. These requests can be handled
easily with respective softwrares.

There must be couple of digital printing press in Chennai too.
As for offset printing, only large printing press have pdf based
workflow. So please check with the printer, if he can handle pdf or
not. From personal experience, almost all printers can handle eps
files, by exporting the eps file to c0rel.
