Hi .. This is my first mail to ilugc team. I have a small issue with
my network setup. I have Beetel modem working with DHCP and NAT. I have a
netgear router connected to the beetel and connected my computer behind
this. Since my netgear router is wireless I planned to purchase a access
point because I don't need a wireless card. I have setup the Access point in
the client mode and connected to the netgear router . According to the
theory it should work but its not working. I have connected the
Hawking access point to the computer and able to ping the access point but
not able to ping my router. I have not given any static ip address and able
to release and renew the ip address in my computer !!!! When I have check
the site survey it is connected to my network only and I don't have any WEP
or WPA enabled for the time being.
Worst part is when I connect the access point to the router and
computer to the router I am not able to ping the router but able to ping the
access point and able to login to. Again when the access point is wireless
and my computer is connected to the router I am able to ping the access
point wirelessly ..I don't know how this is working . But when I connect
the computer back to the access point I am not able ping the router . I
think I have confused a lot .. because I am confused how this is not
working. All the firmware's are latest . ANY SUGGESSIONS ?
