Well, you had apt-rpm and it took some time to add the same/equivalent
features to yum and in the process you earned many frustrated users (who
thought it would work like apt, see the comments of some of the Fedora users
in ilug-goa thread which I posted in an earlier mail) and lose some users
like ESR. It was actually re-inventing the wheel.
