Julian's stuff is for the strong hearted IMHO. In the recent past, many 
on LARTC have reported problems with JA's patches on different kernel 
versions. What I sent is more generic and granularity in cron interval 
decides max connection/ route downtime. A large percentage of 
applications/ users are willing to restart connections without 
persistence and for them this works well (me included).
