[Ilugc] Removing Pen drive safely

Hi all,I am using Ubuntu Dapper.When i want to remove my pen drive from my laptop.I do eject it.It shows an interface tat its ejecting it.But the power is still on.Its obvious as the light is glowing.So i am removing it hot.I fear this is will cause some integrity problem in the long run.I would like to know any solutions ?Thank You in advanceDin
