try lspci to locate your sound card then
install module for that card using
modprobe "card"
if u can't find ur sound card in lspci then remove ur sound card and boot ur
pc then shutdown and add ur card and then boot it again it detect ur card
now?? follow above steps and configure sound with alsamixer

checks:  ls /dev/dsp*
              ls /dev/mixer*
