Is that a SATA drive?

I have it working wonderfully under gentoo.

But under OpenBSD they do not work.

I am surprised that linux distros you mention do not work.

Have you tried downloading and compiling the latest kernel?

I don't think your money went down the drain. Definitely not.

Even I don't think so. :)

I plan to fix the OpenBSD drivers some day...

And of course pretty soon hardware support will follow in the open
source world.
