        I think discussions of rules of conduct of the mailing list
 _are_ on topic. Without concepts of decorum, and nettiquette, online
 discourse rapidly descends into chaos.

        So, a newbie looking for help ought to realize this that this
 not just a unpaid help desk, but a community of people -- and with any
 community, rules of decorum need be followed.
