        So what exactly is the goal of the conference?  Just some people
 getting together to have fun? (in which case, why bring it up on a
 Linux mailing list?)  For it to be discussed on this forum, I would
 have thought that freedom would have been an integral part of the goal,
 so free software is not just a commodity phrase -- it is a foundational
 cause of such conferences.

        Are we beginning to lose sight of what drives free software?
