[Ilugc] how to compile python2.4 with Tkinter modules in Linux(RHEL 5.2)environment?

Dear All
This is to request you all to provide road map to rebuild python2.4 with Tkinter modules on RHEL 5.2 platform?
The error message which I encounter while invoking tkinter modules is as follows:
>>> import Tkinter
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "<stdin>", line 1, in ?
  
File "/usr/local/lib/python2.4/lib-tk/Tkinter.py", line 38, in ?
    import _tkinter # If this fails your 
Python may not be configured for Tk
ImportError:  No module named _tkinter
