[Ilugc] Question about GPL violations [closure]

Following is an update on the GPL violations concern I had:

I just received a response from SANAt technologies (just in case
anyone missed the post that from an intrepid sleuth). Their site is
sanatdata.net. I sent them a long diatribe about the GPL and how I was
disappointed that the sales guy (the country manager Mr. Ramani) did
not seem to appreciate the obligations of the GPL. I received a
response from one of the managers of the company. He states:
"We are pretty aware of our obligations under GPL and are open to
sharing the code that comes under the purview of GPL to our customers.
I hope this statement would clear the air, immediately, on this
point."

So all the confusion appears to have been thanks to the ignorance of a
sales guy (surprise!). Anyway, want to let you all know that this
issue is resolved for now, and that if you (or anyone you know) deals
with Sanat, just state up front that you want all the GPL code :)
[Interestingly no mention of the GPL, FOSS or any source exists on
their website, so there's obviously some level of "don't ask don't
tell" going on.]

On an entirely tangential note, I wonder if anyone on the list has
played with ZFS on FreeBSD. It looks very enticing and I'm planning on
setting up a cheap drive cluster on a desktop box to see how it
performs. I'd like to get any insights and/or experiences working with
this new fs.

Cheers
