Good to see that you are trying out Linux. Also it looks like this is
your first mail to the group. I would recommend you to go read the
mailing list guidelines posted at

before you send any further mails. It will help you send meaningful
mails to the group and would also help us help you better.

Now regarding your installation - try out a text mode installation
from an alterate cd. If you don't know what that is, the following URL
will show you how (assuming it is an i386)

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/I386

Text mode will show you the errors that stops your installation. Even
otherwise I think alt+F4 will show you the installation messages. In
any case you will have to find exact messages or errors that you get
when you install Ubuntu.

Also please let us know the hardware configuration of your PC to see
if there are any known issues.
