[Ilugc] Dependency problems while installing Wammu/wxPython

Hi all,
   I'm trying to install wammu, which depends on wxPython. While trying 
to install wxPython, I get dependency error stating that wxPyhton 
requires Python(abi) =2.5
However Python 2.5 is already installed! Do I have to install some other 
package?
I'm using openSUSE 10.3. I can't make use of repos/smart/1-click 
installers as my Net(Airtel USB EDGE modem) works only in Windows.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
