I don't understand what question or thread you are responding to, but
if it is about using the Debian multi-arch CD on an amd64 but install
i386 stuff, then I don't see how recommending Ubuntu would help. You
could as well recommend a Debian i386 only CD. Does Ubuntu have such a
multi-arch CD?
