Hi,
Once you get the shell prompt, try this...
# grub (press enter)
grub> root (hd0, 2) (this will specify where to find the /boot partition
grub> setup (hd0) (this specifies which is your hard disk to install
grub to)
grub> quit
# reboot
Now you should get a proper grub menu. HTH :)
