well i think initially when Microsoft emerged , there was not such
fierce competition ... it caught the market and grew with it ..(
correct me if i am wrong)

well in the case of Google it has been more of a supply-centric
monopoly ..... considering that it has never spent a penny on
promoting itself , ....... users chose Google ...
