A lot has already been written about "Canonical's contributions or
lack thereof" and I don't think I want to add to this.
However, your question could also be seen as: "Should I switch from
The choice of distribution should not be made lightly but it is far
from permanent. At the same time, installing a new distribution every
few weeks or even months is not my idea of fun. So having chosen your
distribution work on it and with the community for a while. Make a
contribution which feels like a milestone has been achieved. You can
then re-examine your decision in the light of experience.
