[Ilugc] Equivalent of ActiveX in Linux

Dear All

We have developed a browser based biometric application in .net/windows
using activeX controls.
The web server interacts with the driver of the fingerprint reader device in
the client machine using activeX controls
and the captured fingerprint image is transfered to the server for
comparison.

Now we are developing this application to work in Linux systems.
Could some one help on how to do the equivalent of activeX controls in
linux/java.
