Yes, this can be done by configuring Samba server to do "ldapsam"

I am not sure what you mean by this; if you are alluding to ACLs to
resources then one needs to integrate Kerberos. LDAP+Kerberos can
give you single sign on (SSO). Of course it will not be the same as
MS-ADS since MS has added prop. extensions to LDAP+Kerberos.
