My Life at Purdue

I finished my Masters (M.S. in Aerospace Engg.) and PhD at Purdue University, Indiana, USA. The advisor for my theses was Prof. T.N. Farris, another of the great men I have come across in my life. I learnt a lot from him both academically and otherwise which I am sure will help me in my career.

While studying at Purdue, I made a lot of friends of different nationalities and I enjoyed my stay at Purdue. The list of people whim I had interaction with seems to be long. But here are a few prominent among them from the academic side: Harish, my friend and mentor in the fretting fatigue lab; Chris Tieche, who introduced me to the experimental work, Rajeev, Bence, Dan Garcia, Eddie Perez, John Matlik, Hap Hanna, Matt Gean, George Mseis, Narayan and Sriram. These guys were great friends as well as colleagues, who helped me a great deal in the understanding of academic as well as non-academic issues through my discussions with them. Ofcourse, I cannot forget Linda Weybright, the cheerful graduate secretary from industrial Engg., who used to provide us donuts and coffee ,in addtition to any other help required. She was also a very good friend. Machinists Joe and Wayne were also great friends in addition to helping me out with anythin that needed to be machined.

Prominent among my other friends were: Ganapathy, Rajan, Govi, Manoj, Balaji, Mols, N.V. Krishna, Priya, Madhu, Ravi, Suresh, Mahesh, Mahesh Gowrishankara, Brijesh Eshpuniyani, Arul, JFK, Jhun, Jimmy, Shawn Moylan, Jihong Hwang and Srini. Unfortunately, our good friend Balaji passed away in 2003.
